Slightly darker black

This beer is dark. Really dark. I made it to use up the leftover Chocolate and black malts I had lying around. The result was a beautifully rich, dark, and slightly sweet beer with a huge depth of flavour and a nice smokey finish.

Batch size: 20L

Grain bill:
3 kg Pale Malt
0.75 kg Chocolate malt
0.15 kg Black malt
0.20 kg Flaked oats

Boil additions:
0.20 kg (ish) medium dry malt extract

Hops:
10g Brewer’s gold – 60 min
25g Brewer’s gold – 45 min
25g Fuggles – 15 min

Yeast: Fermentis SafBrew Ale S-33

Mash:
30 min @ 50 C
30 min @ 69 C
10 min @ 76 C

Boil duration – 60 min
